Environmental Committee Update / Discussion – Jon (Chair)
• No new update
Planning & Traffic Committee Update / Discussion – Herman (Chair)
• Herman / HWN is appealing the Pier 8 development based upon unit counts and breakdown
• Trying to get more family friendly units across development while avoiding a house wall against the existing homes
• A public open house was recently held for the proposed development at James & Barton to see the layout and ask questions
- Floor plans, elevations and renderings where on display
- The Owner, Builder, Architect were present to talk with
- The planner (James Webb) will still accept feedback
• Cameron recently hosted a public Ward 2 meeting talking about the processes for development from initial design to final approval. He confirmed he would post the presentation slides online.
• A group is looking at creating a plaque system in the north end to enlighten, welcome and create walking experiences.
• Also looking at creating an online resource north end history, stories and personal memories, with QR code s being a possible option
• An option to cover possible expenses would be submitting a grant application to Cameron at the Ward 2 office
Current discussion have talked about interaction options - Facebook group - Record stories / discussion by audio or video - Plaques and walking maps - Podcast, tv (Calbe 14) or movie to connect with public
• NENA can send a mass email to people asking for stories, heritage information / memories and what they like about the north end • Are the options for meeting / gathering places to be kept, maintained or incorporated into and with new developments.

• Question asked if NENA Board members can be listed on website
