10 Storey Development Proposal Denied

The proposal for a 10 storey residential and commercial development at the corner of James Street North and Burlington Street across from Grandad's Doughnuts was denied by city council after concerns of over-building were voiced by residents and community groups. The proposal is currently under review by the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal. NENA formally requested the city impose a Planning Control Bylaw along the James North corridor to pause individual development decisions until a comprehensive re-zoning can take place along the entirety of James Street North.
