NENA – Planning and Traffic Committee August 25, 2021 | 7 pm

Attendance: Herman (Chair), Elizabeth, Patricia, Sheri, Robert (Vice-Chair), Annabel, Bryan, Kathy, Jon, Jennifer, Sharon, Kathy, Sarah. Shawn

1. Herman and Robert opened the meeting with an introduction

2. Jamesville Official Amendment

   1. Jamesville developers sent an official amendment without consulting NENA, which is unlike the relationship that we currently have with them.

   2. Motion by Herman: We recommend that NENA write a letter to the City of Hamilton and advise them that NENA should be a part of the commenting agencies assigned to this file, as part of the planning process and a consultant before staff reports are made. NENA will also ask that the Jamesville project be an open file development. Second: Annabel Carried

3. Sunset Gardens

   1. Nancy and her team of volunteers are looking to NENA to help protect the Sunset Garden and the community park it sits on.

   2. Please refer to Nancy’s letter to the committee for more information

   3. Motion by Herman: Suggest to NENA, at the next meeting, that NENA support and assist in the protection of the Simcoe Tot Lot Park.

4. Public Transit into Bayfront Park

   1. Jon will bring a motion to the next NENA meeting about contact the City about bringing a bus into Bayfront Park.
