Join the North End neighbourhood as we roll, ride, scoot, skate, and Walk the Block.

On August 28 park the car, hit the sidewalk and meet your neighbours.

Everyone is welcome! Come out and explore your neighbourhood, meet the community, and Walk the Block.

To support The North End as a child and friendly neighbourhood, we're inviting the entire community to get out onto the streets for a few hours this summer.

On Sunday, August 28 from 12 - 3 PM we're encouraging all the residents of the North End to participate however you want!

We have one special request...

During the event, we're asking our neighbours to participate by going car-free for a few hours. We know this won't be possible for everyone, but if you can, please consider parking the car until after the event to create a safe space for people to explore the neighbourhood!

But what if you don't want to walk?

That's totally fine! This is a community event and you're invited to participate however you want. Here are a few ideas for how you can get involved (that don't involve walking):

Set up a "greeting station" with a few camping chairs on your front lawn
Wave at neighbours from your porch
Have a garage sale
Put on a street corner concert
Teach your neighbours how to juggle
Create a sidewalk chalk masterpiece
Offer a garden tour
Paint a picture of your street
Pet some dogs as they pass by
Walk, rollerblade, or bike the block
Organize a soccer game in a local park
Play some street hockey with friends
Host a checkers tournament on your driveway
Visit local businesses
And so much more!

You're invited to participate in whatever way you want. All are welcome.

How to participate

Participating in this event is super simple. All you have to do is park the car, and hit the block! Join your neighbours who will also be Walking the Block anytime between 12 - 3pm on Sunday, August 28.
